We have a large distribution of servers we call hives, that dispatch robots, we call them bees, on a staggered 5 minute schedule to investigate the availability of all your monitored services. The result of every bee from every hive is stored in a massive database that is then aggregated using proprietary algorithms to ensure absolutely no false alarms. Other features and benefits include the following.
- False Alerts and Alarms, our system has a complete array of checks and balances, practically eliminating false alarms but you still have the ability to enable what we call "Paranoid Mode" for any service that is so critical, if ANY of our hives can't get to it, you want to know.
- Cost Effectiveness, we are less expensive than most monitoring providers and don't charge for most of the available methods of alerting you to a problem unlike many other remote monitoring services; when you compound false alerts with charging you for each notification, that adds up to a lot of wasted time and money.
- User Complexity, a host setup wizard scans your host then walks you through configuring the host's and protocols you want to configure with help the whole way.
- On-Call Scheduling, you can schedule each point of contact for any host; example, while Pam is a 9a to 5p during weekdays, Bill is 24hrs. a day on weekends and non-business hours on weekdays.
- Expandability, we can add and remove monitoring servers, we call them hives, without impacting the quality of service you receive. In fact, the more hives we deploy, the more accurate our system becomes!
- Complete Set of Protocols, we can monitor virtually any standard internet protocol in virtually any manner available to that protocol.
- Quality Uptime Repoting, our remote monitoring system provides you with a true view of your website's ability to provide good quality of service to all users, from all corners of the globe.
We currently have hives in southern California, Washington State, Arizona, and Pennsylvania with expansion plans for Illinois and Florida! (see our map below). This distributed network ensures that, if for some reason a bad route exists from one location to your servers or your server has a temporary hiccup, that isn't necessarily cause for alarm if all the other bees are successful. If you feel this IS cause for alarm, you can run a monitored protocol in what we call "Paranoid Mode" whereas, if any bee cannot get to that protocol, you are alerted immediately.
What does this distributed monitoring network and massive database mean to you?
- Our monitoring service is fault tolerant, eliminating false alarms!
- Detail statistics and graphs for every server and service, with real-time QoS reports.
- We can expand our network of hives with out any negative impact to the system already in place. In fact, the more hives we deploy, the more accurate the system becomes.
Through our administration panel (see our example below), you can view reports showing you the last result from each hive and each service, weekly graphs of your QoS for every server and every service, monthly statistics for all monitored services, and alerts that have been dispatched and to who. Additionally, you can configure an on-call schedule for every contact that receives notifications!
